On to Travar

A group of adventures almost haphazardly thrown together has just entered Parlainth. Their first mission to rescue a young looking woman from cadaver men was successful. When the battle is over, they find that she is not as young as she looks but has lived many generations, more than most people could even imagine living. Sonya has joined this group of brave adventures for now; if she likes them, she might join them fully and make them true Children of the Phoenix.

Given to the entire group is an amulet that, can unlock the secrets to join an ancient order known as the Children of the Phoenix. Sonya is the only surviving member of the true order. The Children of the Phoenix were bastions of light in a time that darkness ruled the lands and to be of the light was not only dangerous but deadly at times.

As the group with their new addition, explore Parlainth in search of three namegivers who have been lost since before The Scourge, they will learn to work together and learn what the amulets truly mean for them. What none of them know, not even Sonya, is that Anaya her spiritual though physical in Parlainth, has been planting the amulets in many different places, and there are others being drawn to Sonya. In addition, there are those powers that wish to capture Sonya and use her powers as a weapon on their enemies.

As far as Deroj is concerned, all airships look the same - the fact that this one looks like Shadowwolf's makes perfect sense. A little creepy, since they're both laying wrecked not too far from each other... of course, the mutilated corpses and such are a significant difference.

Deroj walks behind Grollic to the deckhouse, since his companion seems to know where he's going. When they get there, Deroj breathes a sigh of relief that they've gotten that far. However, that feeling subsides as Grollic reads the journal.

Great, I was right about the trees, Deroj mutters, clearly not thrilled with being correct. How soon can we be done here? I don't even think we should salvage from... hey, is that Shadowwolf?

The young Thief brightens at {what he thinks is  } the Troubador's approach. Hey, we're up here! he shouts, and leaps out of the deckhouse to find Shadowwolf, heading to the side of the ship.

Grollic reaches for Deroj, only to swipe at empty air. He'll loosen his sword in its sheathe and stumble after his companion.

"Wait! Deroj, don't give away your position! We don't know if it's a trap or anything else that killed this ship's crew!"

He'll grumble at the impatience of humans and follow along. Grollic will keep a paranoid eye and ear out for...well, anything out of the ordinary. Besides laughing trees, or crashed airships, or mysterious fogbanks...

As you look over the edge, there stand Shadowwolf and a few others from the crew. “So Gents, what is going on with this ship?”

It's a ship, but there are bodies and... no, wait, it's really the trees, I mean, not really the trees, but they're evil and they're laughing and the bodies on the ship and there's a book and but I mean the trees, they're not right, and they laughed at this ship, too, and the skeletons, did I mention the bodies...

Suddenly, Deroj runs out of air, takes a deep breath, exhales, and turns to Grollic. Maybe you'd better tell him, he says wearily.

"This is a wrecked slave ship of the Theran Empire. It crashed here after being attacked by a tentacled horror. The trees were observed to laugh in a nasty way at the crew. The captain fled and the rest all died of something."

After a moment of consideration, he'll add, "The wood here is good and usable, however, if you stay here long enough, you can actually hear the trees laughing at you. It's like they know something you don't. I say we get some wood and then get out of here quick. Oh, and we haven't explored below deck yet. We just finished reading the ship's log."

Shadowwolf listened to what the two young adventures had to say then made a jump to the rail and pulled himself over to the deck.

“So gentlemen you are saying that this forest could be tainted? That isn’t good. We will have to make quick work of this wood then.” He turned and waved his arm and soon some of the crew came out and started grabbing what wood they could reach from the ground. Three others came aboard and started accessing the center mast of this derelict and after a close inspection found it to actually be worse off than their own.

Shadowwolf watched as everything unfolded, it seemed he would have to use his magic to form a new mast, he had already lost two crew, he wouldn’t lose anyone else. “So gentlemen I guess it is time for you to look below, it looks as if we are finding the wood we need, though the mast I will have to take care of. Don’t spend too much time down there just give it a once over then get back to the Slave’s Avenger.” He then turned around and walked to the rail, and grabbed it, as he was about to jump again he stopped and turned, “Oh and remember this was a slave ship, so be prepared to see ghastly things below. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are, still chained up slaves below, dead I am sure, but they will be there none the less.” His face looked grim, apparently slavery is a touchy subject with him. He then pulls with one hand and lightly lands below on the ground and after conversing with a couple of the crew he heads back towards the ship.

(so you going below???)

Grollic will grunt in acknowledgement, then steel himself and position himself at the stairway down into the next level. He'll wait for Deroj to back him up, then slowly but surely go down and explore.

Deroj watched Shadowwolf leap over the railing, and wondered by all the Passions why he wasn't doing the same. Explore the ship? Why didn't I stay back with Scarron and the others? It's not that he didn't trust Grollic, it was just that he'd much rather be scouting the haunted, crashed, derelict airship with a half-dozen companions instead of just one. While not very fond of math overall, he was a big believer in the "safety in numbers" concept.

Deroj casts Moonglow to help them see better and falls in behind the Warrior. Let's get this over with, he says through clenched teeth.
