The Countess returns Bjorn's nod as she steps in front of Mark and once more draws her scimitar.

"Mark Carpenter," she states firmly, placing the flat of her scimitar on the man's right shoulder, "for actions honorable and just, befitting nobility," she continues, touching the blade to his right shoulder, "with Sir William and Lady Judity of House Gerdes as my witness, and by the power entrusted in me by his Highness King Cyric the Fair, son of Shroder the Invincible, I knight thee." The Countess sheathes the scimitar. "Rise Sir Mark of Gerdes."

Mark rises from his kneeling posisition and bows lightly to the Countess once he has risen.

The Countess stands before Kel'Taur and once more draws her silver scimitar.

"Kel'Taur Morion En' Rhovanion," she says with a satisfied smile as she sets the blade softly against the elf's right shoulder, "for actions honorable and just, befitting nobility," she continues, moving the blade to his left shoulder, "and by the power entrusted in me by his Highness King Cyric the Fair, son of Shroder the Invincible, I knight thee." Finally, she sheathes the blade and holds it at her side. "Rise Sir Kel'Taur."

Kel'Taur locks eyes with the Countess through out the short knighting ceremony. When she is done, he rises gracefully and smiles at her. "I accept this honor bestowed upon me with grace and honor." He then waits for her to continue.

Elsabeth rests fists on her hips, beaming with joy. "And thats how you do that, ladies and gentlemen!" She tosses the ceremonial scimitar to Grace, who easily catches it by the scabbard. The other guard, Allison, picks up the pillows and sets them aside.

Sir William and Lady Judith congratulate the Four Marches newest knights, and end up staying long enough to enjoy a quick lunch. A large spread including roast ham and a sweet carrot soup is prepared in the dining room - perhaps one of the last truly fine meals that Kel'Taur, Uvuriel, Bjorn and Mark will eat for a long time to come.

After lunch, the noble couple bid their farewells and depart. Everyone is given a short amount of time to pack up their belongings, as a carriage is waiting outside in the rain to take them westward to Camp Diamond.

Kel'Taur quickly heads up stairs to gather his things, but gives the countess a wink before he goes. Once he is up there, he makes sure all his stuff is together and then waits with his door open, hoping the countess will arrive.

Uvuriel runs up the stairs chanting, "I'm a lay-die kni-hight! I'm a lay-die kni-hight!" She stuffs her things into her bag, hooks her spiked chain onto her belt, settles her bow across her shoulder, and lastly, grabs her spellbook off of her bed. Then she races back down the stairs to wait by the door.

Mark returns to his room quick to check to see if he had gotten all his belongings; making sure also that he still has all his money all stored in his pouch safely in his bag. He also reminds himself that he must fetch Swiftblade on the way to this camp.

Bjorn went to his room and gathered hi things. A noble, but he felt no different because of that. His heart swelled not because of his title, but that he was about to accomplish his dreams.

Giving a last sigh, Bjorn picked up his pack and made way to the coach.

The stoic driver quietly loads everyone's belongings up onto the top of the coach, and secures it all beneath a black waterproof tarp. Kel'Taur, Mark, Bjorn, Uvuriel and Countess Fortsworth are all escorted individually to the coach beneath the driver's umbrella.

Inside the coach it is comfortable and dry. Constructed of dark cherry wood and padded with crimson velvet cushions, the Countess' carriage is certainly the way to travel in style. There is easily enough room to seat six, so the five travellers have plenty of room to relax while the clydesdales do the work.

Two of the Countess' guards mount black horses and ride escort, though with hooded cloaks up to shelter them from the rain, it is impossible to tell who they are.

And so, it comes to pass that four near-strangers, four new friends, make their way west on the first leg of their journey to an unconquered land.

[OOC: Thats the end of this topic, and of this chapter. I'd like to take a moment to thank you all for playing thus far! To continue, see the new topic Chapter II: Camp Diamond.]
